Do you want to know your IP address ?
Follow these steps to know your IP address: –
- Click the Start button, select Run
- then type CMD and press Enter.
- a Command prompt window will open.
- then type “ipconfig” and press Enter.
Several lines of information will be displayed.
The IP address looks like “149.72.61.234” – yours will probably have different numbers near the end.
If you cannot obtain the IP address, you can try to “renew” it: follow these steps:-
1) Click the Start button, select Run
2) Type CMD and press Enter.
3) A Command prompt window will open.
4) Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
(Note: there is a space between “ipconfig” and “/release”)
Wait for the command to finish……..
then type “ipconfig /renew”
(Note: there is a space between “ipconfig” and “/renew”)
Wait about 1 minute. If successful,
your IP will display and look like “149.72.61.234”.
Type Exit to close the CMD window.
If you get an error, the cause might be you do not have a network connection or your PC may not be configured to get its IP address and DNS information from our DHCP server.
